Coffer Corporate Leisure advised Orchard Care Homes on a £70m sale and leaseback transaction sold to a joint venture between Invista and Prestigic Holdings. The portfolio comprised 9 purpose built care homes situated in the north of England. The deal was crucial in the funding of £175m management buy-out of Orchard Care Homes led by incumbent Chief Executive Paul Mancey. At the time of the sale Orchard Care Homes comprised 26 homes in the north of England and is set to grow to 56 homes by way of a rolling development programme. Coffer Corporate Leisure will continue to advise the group. Given that the management buy out was dependent on this sale taking place, it was important to agree terms with a reliable bidder. A very tight sales process was conducted which resulted in agreeing terms with the joint venture partners.
